Introduction

If you’re new to me, my name is Nadi Abdi. I’m a writer, author, and occasional podcaster and voice actor. I’ve been writing since I was a child. I’ve been an author off and on for 10 years. Podcasting, narrating, and voice acting are new to me, but are things I should've been doing ages ago. But I’m doing it now, and that’s what’s important. So long as I keep doing it, that’s what will matter.

As a writer, I write primarily fantasy and sci fi. (Well science fantasy, but whatever.) While I have dabbled in poetry and plays, my work now is firmly in prose. I write short stories, novellas, and novels. A few articles and think pieces may pop up here and there. While I’m not shy about politics or my political stance, I mostly write fiction.

But that's me as a writer. Regarding The Demon Cleaner, the entire series revolves around Lillas Mikkinnan and her extended family. Lillas, herself, is a demon cleaner, or demon hunter. They call themselves “demon cleaners” because it sounds less aggressive. Meanwhile, they're some of the most dangerous people you can come across, with Lillas being the most powerful and dangerous among them.

The series will follow Lillas for several years of her life starting when she's 18 in 2006 until…I don't know when. I haven't written that far, yet.

The story is told in 3rd person, allowing me to work with multiple characters and show how others see the heroine. At one point, I tried writing the story in 1st person, but I just couldn't. A lot happens around Guild City (where The Demon Cleaner is set) that Lillas isn't a part of, but indirectly affects her and the demon cleaner community.

In addition to the demons and the people who love them or hate them, there are magicians, vampires, ghosts, and other elements of fantasy all existing under modern politics and policies which come into play periodically.

The Demon cleaner is about how a woman who could literally reshape continents navigate the world and maintains relationships with friends and family while making sure the opps remember she can and will wipe them out of they push too hard.
